Truth and Transformation: A Manifesto for Ailing Nations

It is a rare book that has me as excited as Vishal Mangalwadi’s new one does, Truth and Transformation. It simply is one of the most important books I’ve read on the power of a biblical worldview for social and cultural transformation. If this is a topic you care about—as I assume it is if you are reading this blog—then please put this book in your “must read” category. We had the great privilege as a Disciple Nations Alliance team of developing the study guide for the book, as well as working with our friends at YWAM Publishing to see it finalized and released. We are offering it through our online store at the special discounted price of $9 through the end of May—less than half the price of Amazon.com.

Here are a few of the endorsements:

“Very few thinkers in the world today understand as clearly as Vishal Mangalwadi does the impact of the Bible on Western civilization. He brings a unique perspective. Born and educated in India, he sees the West as others see us, which breaks the myopic view that so many politically sensitive Westerners have today. This is a refreshing, invigorating, and a very valuable reading. A tour de force from someone who see us from the outside as well as the inside.” – Chuck Colson, Founder, Prison Fellowship

“There is an urgency about Vishal’s excellent argument. He is right on with respect to the moral and spiritual dynamics of Western civilization. As an outsider, he is in a strong position to address Western minds because of his knowledge of history and facts, and because of the level of concreteness with which he lays out his case. His logic is impeccable and forceful. Of course, our sophisticates will be dismissive of him, but multitudes of ‘ordinary people’ will see the point and perhaps will do something about it.” – Dallas Willard, Professor of Philosophy, University of Southern California

“The current worldwide economic crisis shows what happens when distrust rules nations. Vishal Mangalwadi illumines the path to restoring trust by embracing truth.” – Marvin Olasky, Editor-in-Chief, WORLD; provost, The King’s College, New York City

“If you are concerned with the health and development of your nation, then Truth and Transformation is a must read. The world has it wrong—money, technique, and technology are not the keys to a nation’s healing and prosperity. Truth is the root from which vigorous and wholesome societies flourish. No one says it better than Mangalwadi.” – Darrow Miller, Co-Founder, Disciple Nations Alliance
