We’ve written here about Clapham more than once. Now I’m happy to highlight a movement that is bringing a Clapham influence to today’s world.
At the recent Chuck Colson Center’s Wilberforce Weekend, we were introduced to a number of ministries connected to the larger world of the Colson Center. One in particular echoes our Monday Church theme here at the Disciple Nations Alliance: Salt and Light Leadership Training (SALLT).
The mission of SALLT is to establish “Clapham Circles,” named for the Clapham Sect which God used to end slavery and transform England. They are training top community leaders to impact their cities for the kingdom.
The SALLT program is comprised of key leaders from all walks of life interested in seeking collaborative ways to strengthen communities through the application of a Biblical worldview. Through this program participants are given an opportunity to build lasting relationships with other leaders who share in a desire to serve others in a substantive and lasting way. Imagine engaging the top leaders in education, government, business, the arts, media, religion and entertainment about the important issues of our time. If you are looking to find people who want to make a difference in the world, you will feel at home at the SALLT Academy.
For more on SALLT see their video and visit their website.
If you also want to see your communities and nations transformed, here’s a group that has created a useful model. Maybe you will want to get involved!
